Good bipod that won't break the bank?

The swivel model of the Harris allows you to swing the rifle left to right, but not roll the rifle on on its' side (so to speak).

This rifle is traversed to the right on the bipod

I won't argue in aviation terms, but I do know Harris bipods. Swiveling Harris models swivel from side to side to allow leveling on uneven ground. You can take that to the bank!

the HBR I ended up ordering does not allow this motion - but then again it doesn't allow any motion really.

the HBRS does allow traversing - but Harris calls it "swiveling" so it does the same motion, but is not called the same thing. What other bipod makers call 'swiveling' Harris calls "rotating"

I think that's where the disconnect here is - it's just terminology, but Bassin is correct, you can get that motion when the Harris, you just have to order the "S" series bipod.
