[QUOTE="sh00ter, post: 3094662, member: 24531"] This is one of my biggest fears if I lived in the country...some idiot shooting a rifle within range of my house & family without a proper backstop. YOU do it right and YOU know that you do. But the neighbor doesn't know that; the cops should have gone to the neighbor and told them you were doing it in a safe manner and it wasn't just teens horsing around without any safety. Lotta people with guns (especially teens and kids) who do not have the proper training or supervision but go "out in the country" to shoot anyway. That's how you hear about accidents like when the baby got hit by a rifle bullet while being rocked in a chair by his grandpa inside a house. I think an inspection of the situation by the cops or better yet by a courteous neighbor is all that is needed to prevent tragedies. But none the less, YOU were not doing anything wrong so it is annoying when someone questions you and you KNOW you're doing right. I think the cop shoulda offered to go tell the neighbor it's safe.
