My grandaddy's gun - a relic from the past. Hembrug Mannlicher carbine. Has been fired in recent history, but probably never again. Not worth much, but not for sale at any price.

Great song, but I would like to see postings of what you have as 'Grandad's gun"

For me it's a Remington Model 11 (Humpback Browning) 12ga. He bought it 1921 at age 13 after picking cotton. It's recoil operated, kicks like a hard head mule and has accounted for more Bob White than populate the state. His English Pointer was known all around and he always had somebody wanting stud service. I had the pleasure of hunting with one of his decendents which Papa had up until I was 15. He was the last bird dog Papa had. He had purchased a Browning Sweet 16 right after he and Grandma got married, so I was "priviledged?" to get to carry the old Model 11. Dad loved it, because I didn't shoot too many shells. Finally, at Christmas, when I was 14, I found a Rem 1100 16ga under the tree. Both guns hold prominate places in the gun cabinet and each makes at least 1 trip afield every year.
