Very cool. Thanks for sharing. She reminds me a lot of my grandma. She was a depression era survivor & had story after story to tell of those hard times. Wish now I had tape recorded all of them.

I guess the Great Depression was really tough..My dad grew up along the South Canadian River with 15 brothers and sisters..He said they ate possums and whippoorwill peas and had an old milk cow. When the cow went dry he said they butchered the cow..He said he knew times were getting better one day when a rabbit ran across the road in front of him and didn't have anyone chasing him..I grew up on the same property that he did..The old foundation for the two room house was still there as well as the remnants of the old lean to where the boys stayed..The momma and dad and 8 girls stayed in the house and the 8 boys stayed in the lean to..Pretty tough times I would say...
