The grates were a bit rusty and have gotten worse with use. The chrome is flaking off in places and the small netting effect on the grates make it hard to clean, mandating a wire brush which is making the rust problem worse. Anyway I ran across some stainless grates that were on sale and since we use the smoker a lot I thought they would be a good investment.
The grates arrived today and I am impressed. Good heavy gauge stainless that should last longer than the smoker. If you need new grates for a smoker or grill you might check them out. They are available in several sizes.
