when i get tomato plants with flowers and no fruit and some flowers fall off and still no fruit i beat them with a stick and start pulling off limbs.
They get the picture and start putting on fruit to survive.

Swamp...If you started beating me with a stick and pulling off my limbs, I'd start producing too!

I put in a handful of basil plants because I thought I might like to make a little pesto.

Little did I know that they'd produce more than I could harvest and grow 6 feet tall.

If they went to seed, you will see them for years to come. We grew some in pots outside one year along with some cilantro. We picked basil and cilantro from the yard in the spring for a couple of years afterward.
