Exactly. I only road on the street twice. The first time was to get the bike to our house from where we bought it. The second time was 15 years ago, my buddy needed help getting his bike home after he broke his arm doing something stupid. I stopped in the old Ace Hardware parking lot across from Heritage Park mall in Midwest City to fix my helmet strap (I lived behind the mall at the time). As I was leaving, this lady cut through the parking lot diagonally and hit me about 25 mph. Knocked me off the bike and broke two bones in my foot (wearing sneakers instead of my riding boots). She tried running but a bunch of people witnessed it and blocked her in. Cops came, took statements. She claimed I was the one cutting across the parking lot. Cops arrested her. The people helped me get the bike back upright and I rode the bike 2 miles to my friends house with my broken foot. An officer was nice enough to follow me to my friends house to drop the bike off, then took me to the hospital to get my foot fixed. Last time I ever road on the street. People aren’t paying attention and just don’t care.
