Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but yes, almost every time I am in one particular store someone behind the gun counter has incorrect 'facts' they pass along to a customer. I have trained a lot of women over the past 2.5 years and have learned a lot. I take particular issue with the incorrect information they pass on to women. I had a woman student come to me with a HD 20 gauge pump. She said the reason she bought it was because the salesman, an older gentleman, told here that she did not even need to point the thing or be accurate with it, that the pattern would be so big she could not miss. Well, we proceeded to place targets at HD distances; 12', 15', 20', and shot buckshot at the target. When she saw that the pattern was between 1.5 and 3.0 in diameter, i explained to her that, 'yes, you could miss the center of mass or even miss a bad guy entirely. So lets now learn how to shoot this shotgun." I have been impressed with the some of the guys at Academy on 41st as they have given out in my opinion some very sound info to customers.
