Terrible. I hate that happens.

Used to be a fellow in town here, that shot himself in the temple with a .38 special. It only blinded him. He was a great guy, He began to live after surviving the failed attempt. At the time he was a alcoholic and had some family issues. He was a great fellow to visit with. He would walk all over up town and visit.  I was watching him one day walking with his white cane, he veered off the sidewalk in an empty lot. He got up against a small tree that his cane would not reach the trunk, and the limbs were hitting him in the face. He couldn't get loose from it. I went and helped him and we had a great laugh about it. Once in my Uncles Bar he asked me to help him to find the restroom. He would tell you to give him your left elbow and he would follow. Not thinking and eager to help I stuck out my right elbow, it put him on my right side, we were running over everything in the place, then it dawned on me why he wanted my left elbow so he could walk directly behind, it was another good laugh.

People can get really distressed and think Alcohol or Drugs will help, always adds fuel to the fire.

Sadly it seems hard to help or reach someone in that state of mind.

The more You try and help them seems the harder they resist till they hit bottom.

Impossible to know what to do seems like.
