I also have a lead foot with lots of interactions with LEO. Always do all the above about keeping hands on wheel, DL and insurance available to hand over, good attitude, windows down and so on. Never got a warning in my life but one. Was coming home from an elk hunt with an elk in the back of the truck in New Mexico between Clayton and Springer. Incredible long stretch of road with almost zero traffic. Speed limit 60mph. Had the cruise set on 90mph, driving along seeing a truck coming at me. No problem. The County Sheriff behind the truck was a problem and he hit me with the instant on radar so I was busted. Pulled over. He asked if I knew my speed. Yep, 90. He took my DL and went back to his vehicle. Came back and asked if I knew he could arrest and jail me at that speed as it was reckless driving. Answered yes. (been there done that on a drag bike I was testing on a county road) He gave the DL back and said to slow it down. Thanked him, and left putting the cruise back on 90 to get off that godforsaken stretch of highway.
