The first centerfire firearm that I bought was a Ruger P95. I bought it because I could afford it. A lot of guys at the range looked down upon it because it wasn't a 1911 or a Glock (keep in mind that this was almost 25 years ago, and Glocks were the big thing at the time). It shot well, and it never jammed. While it was not a true target pistol, it shot as well as the other DA/SA pistols that were available at that time. Maybe the pistol accuracy would have been better if I would have received better training when I started shooting. It was only after receiving CMP SAFS training that I became a good shot rather than a fair shot, so I was probably the main problem with regards to the Ruger's accuracy. I now own many fine pistols, but that Ruger will always be one of my favorites.
