Many teachers have summer jobs or stay home with kids in the summer. Not sure on class cost, but the cost of day care ($150-200 a week) would have to be factored in as well for many teachers.   Not only is it a time issue, but a training issue. It is pointless to spend time training teachers in skills not needed for carrying a pistol to protect kids.  The duties of a teacher and the duties of an officer are vastly different and there is no need for the training to be the same.</p></blockquote><p></p>
