"In a nutshell, then, the Second Amendment's right to bear arms reflects not only a concern for one's personal defense, but serves as a check on the political power of the ruling authorities. It represents an implicit warning against governmental encroachments on one's freedoms, the warning shot over the bow to discourage any unlawful violations of our persons or property. As such, it reinforces that necessary balance in the citizen-state relationship."

I have been noticing - or perhaps it's just wishful thinking - that some of the socialist rags that sang the praises of Liberal Democrats have started to distance themselves a little bit from the party. Could it be they've felt the wrath of left-leaning conservatives who are trying to separate themselves from the Obama Administration to salvage their own political careers? Or maybe they've simply seen the writing on the wall? ................................................................................................................................NAH!!!!!!!!!!!

It's also quite possible that in light of the fact that Huffington is reporting how anti-First Amendment King Hussein is, that they need to start gathering allies who support the other amendments to the Bill of Rights.

I have never understood the media's aversion to the 2nd ammendment. The 2nd protect's the 1st. Nothing else will suffice. Once the guns are banned, speaking out against what you dont like about your government will be soon be against the law too. Your comment may have some merit. We can only hope.

Popular media really has believed in the past that they will be unaffected, by and large, from censorship.
And, if you're pushing the King's agenda, as CNN does, for instance, then when the Second Amendment is struck down, King Hussein's Regime will reward you by not censoring you, as they will outlets such as FOX News.

In a nutshell, the media will cling to the hope that the Hussein regime will stop at the Second Amendment, and that instead of the armed populace holding back dictators such as King Hussein, their editorials will stop him.
