Message: <blockquote data-quote="jrusling" data-source="post: 1324801" data-attributes="member: 10401"><p>Due to having an elderly lady living next door, I ran my generator 39 hours straight, except for refilling the gas tank.  Fortunately we both have gas heat and my 4 kw generator had no problems handling both houses.  I do have enough 10 gauge extension cord to reach her house.  Normally I turn the generator off at night.  We have a couple of deep cycle batteries with inverters that will power the electric blanket and a light or two all night.  They will also handle the TV's and computer for several hours which will take care of the majority of our power outages.</p></blockquote><p></p>
