By the way, nobody has really answered all the questions I initially asked. But that’s okay, those who choose to defend in place while 911 is being called are correct. The only way I would strap on my Rambo Head Band and go about clearing the house is if I had kids or other loved ones on the other side of the house. Then I can only hope my somewhat deteriorated skills from years ago are still marginally better than some punk or punks who break into houses for a living. That whole thing of having a pistol grip rather than a stock, and the shortest shotgun you can get is crap if you are going to be hunkered down behind the dresser anyway. Plus, I really don’t want to shoot someone unless I have to. Think of the collateral damages. The mess someone’s got to clean up once the Medical Office crew is done, the Sheetrock, the painting, etc. is nothing to ignore, nosirree, that’s a lot of work. I’m lazy like that. CRASH! I’m gonna be in a defensive posture, 12 gauge pump loaded with reduced recoil 00 buck pointed at the doorway. The wife is on the phone with 911, my BUG will be my nightstand gun, Sig 9MM with 124 gr +P HST Rounds. Wife has the J Frame with Hornady CD light recoil in it. The hallway to the bedroom is also covered by a motion detector, so it’s lit up well for me; anyone in the hall or doorway is back-lit nicely, while the Old Devil Dog is somewhere in the room behind some kind of cover with one eye and a shotgun barrel all there is to be seen; if one could see in the dark well enough to find my position in time to shoot me that is. There are also a few decorative mirrors placed in the hall to give me a slight edge as well. (Think about it). Now we quietly wait for the cops, hoping the bad guy just goes away, but if he comes down that hallway and decides he wants to come on in my bedroom, despite the obvious warning signs not to, then he has gone too far. He can play “Find the Victim in the Dark” and I’ll play “Center the Bead” and squeeze. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
