There's no real secret to shipping insurance aside from calling as many places as you can tolerate and getting quotes and comparing coverages and prices. They will vary wildly from person to person, house to house, company to company as they all have vastly different rating criteria from one another. If Farm Bureau and State Farm are out, your best best is to probably check with Farmers (I will let someone in OKC recommend an agent as I am in Tulsa), a good independent agent to scour some of their companies (the name of the one I used in OKC is escaping me), the local Liberty Mutual office (call (405) 720-6083 and they'll get you on the phone with an agent in that office), and also call Amica (don't be scared by their call center, they are one of the highest rated insurers for service and claims, and also had the best quote on my house when I changed over within the last 90 days), and USAA if you are eligible. Others have good luck with Shelter and Allstate, but I won't do business with the due to past experiences with claims. YMMV of course. Partial disclosure: I work for an insurance company, and it is one of the ones listed above as they are fairly competitive, but since I didn't recommend one any more than the others, I'll keep it to myself for now. I don't use them for my home but they did quote me this summer and it wasn't outrageous. I went with Amica, which is not who a work for; and not necessarily an endorsement but wanted say who was the most competitive coverage per dollar for me. Again YMMV.
