The Muskogee County District Courthouse was closed Monday for the Veterans Day holiday, so the district attorney’s office was unable to comment on any charges Nelson might face.</p><p></p><p> <strong>Police described the homeowner as a 77-year-old war veteran</strong>, but declined to release his name for “safety reasons.”</p><p></p><p> “It’s a good thing he wasn’t hurt,” Zardeneta said. “You know, it’s a shame what happened, but people have a right to protect themselves and their homes.”</p><p></p><p>Police don’t believe the homeowner “did anything criminal,” but the full report will be turned over to the DA’s office.</p><p></p><p>“Ultimately it’s his decision,” Zardeneta said. </p><p></p><p> Lee said the shooting is the result of citizen frustration.</p><p></p><p>“<strong>People are tired of people trying to take their stuff, their belongings,” Lee said. “People are fed up.
