Owner gets it back just like their wallet, purse, ect. They're usually not on scene for a while, so they get removed from the victim and locked in the fire truck until the SO or OHP can take care of it. It's only happened once in as many years that I can recall. Every dept/district probably has their own protocols.</p></blockquote><p></p>
