#12 is the truth! I was in OKC today to pick up the RV from McClains which turned out to be a disaster, and have to travel there to the VA on occasion. Also a country boy, but I'm adapting. The stretch from 2nd street exit in Edmond on I-35 to the first exit at Guthrie is a full-blown NASCAR event. 90 seems to be the norm with constant weaving in and out of traffic to gain two car lengths before hitting the Guthrie exit and save oneself about 5 seconds of travel time or less. WTF is it with these folks driving the 15 year old rice burners with pipes that sound like a singer sewing machine that whip across three lanes with a cell phone attached to their heads? They are everywhere! With a big french door stainless refrigerator in the back of the truck today, decided to take I-40 to the Kilpatrick to avoid the construction around the 35-44 intersection. Holy Fawk! another NASCAR event. I figured 65 was my top speed with that much cargo in the back catching wind, so put the cruise there and motored on into Ponca. Say what one may, but the traffic on the Kilpatrick was great. Everyone was around 70 going around me and didn't offer any one fingered salutes. Entered the 2nd NASCAR event of the day to the aforementioned Guthrie exit getting multiple honks and salutes even though staying in the right lane exclusively. I'm pretty sure I was impeding the flow of traffic for the rice burner crowd.
