Back when I was shooting matches pretty regularly Paul Abel had a match that a group of us shot pretty regularly. I was, as usual, the only woman out there one cold, windy, winter Sunday with a fairly good-sized group of fellas ... all of them with just about the same rather warped sense of humor I have. Anyway ... there was this one stage where you started with you back to the targets, hands at surrender and then when the RO beeped you, you were to pivot, draw and fire ... SO ... I take my jacket off, jiggle my shoulders to take the chill off and do my usual routine which consists of me getting my feet set, looking down at the ground and taking a couple of deep breaths and then nodding I'm ready. As Paul says "Shooter are you ready?" I raise my eyes from the ground to nod my head and see this line of men in front of me who look like this ...:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked: Paul leans into me, grins and says "That's quite a strategy you got there sister!" Not knowing what the stages were gonna be that day I had put on my warmest long-sleeved thermal t-shirt ... Which just happened to be white. :pms2: It's a good thing for me I'm not embarrassed by much or else I'd have crawled under the nearest rock and would probably still be there! As it was we had a GREAT laugh at my expense!! Man, I miss shooting with those fellas!!
