I keep contemplating how not to comply with this bill if it gets passed. I mostly have long guns. When mr. agent shows up, I'll just have to confess that I sold them all through private transactions, which don't require any records being kept, as far as I know. Handguns, NFA weapons, cans, etc. would have to be legally transferred and tracked. I presently lack all of those, except for an 1860 army revolver replica. Crude, but effective.

Awesome!! I am all about people abiding the laws if the laws are moral and Constitutional but this is ridiculous. I think it has just been hidden by the stimulus craziness and no one has caught it. I have to read up on some other sites myself. I just thought I need to get the word out even if I haven't read all the resources yet.

According to NRAILA.org, this is still a developing Bill that we need to kill right away. I have sent an email to Rep. John Sullivan already, asking that he play a major role in PUBLICIZING this bill and how anti Heller v/s DC it is.

PLease, all readers do the same with your rep.
This needs to be advertised WIDELY by our Reps so all the misguided Gun owners who voted for the liberals in 2008 realize and correct their behavior in 2010.

IIRC (been a while since I read the bill), all permits are at the discretion of the AG, right? If that is the case, then with Holder I would bet that all applications would be denied, except if you have the money, power, and women. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

You hit the nail on the head. Have you guys ever seen the videos on YouTube where piles of weapons in Britain are being destroyed after they were turned in by the public? That's the direction that these national socialists are going in. At a minimum the USAG office will be a bottle neck with millions of applications. Just think of how many people they'll have to hire to even review this stuff. Not my idea of job creation.
