I know how you fellas think so first off just to clarify the thread topic......no I did not eat night crawlers or minnows. :)

My bride of 43+ years wanted to try the fairly new Crawfish Pot in Norman so we went.

I wanted to try gumbo so we each had a cup while waiting on our main course.....we ordered a mixed boil consisting of corn on the cob, potatoes, some kind of sausage, 1 lb. of king crab, 1 lb. of crawdads, and 1 lb. of jumbo shrimp (we could have also added clams if we wanted to).

I can't compare it to any other because I'd never had gumbo before but it was really, really good and I'll definitely be going back for more.

I ate two of the crawdads ( fish bait) and felt they were good but too much work for just a little gain, two of the big shrimp and left the remainder of the seafood to mama while I devoured the big chunk of sausage, a potato and some corn.

The next time we go I'm going to order the fried or broiled oysters (I not going to try them raw) or their fried clams and get a regular size bowl of the gumbo.

Man shrimp gumbo is delicious. My dad can make some that is great. My wife actually makes a really good chicken and sausage gumbo. I need to tell the misses to put that on the menu now that its cooling down.

I go for the shrimp first, since it's typically blue crab.. Got a name and address on this place.. It'd been a while since I've eaten such, the wife used to make a spread like this but not since we moved to OK.. Good eats..
