I work for a good sized construction company and we only have 1 ratchet strap on the property. Which happens to be mine. No other rope or lashing material in the warehouse either. All of our superintendents are hoarders. Looks like I'll have to wait till tomorrow to take all my trim home that was delivered today.

Darn. Who wanted to sand and prime 312 lf of base and case. 150 lf of crown moulding, 67lf of quater round and 24lf of 6" maple for casing. I sure didn't.

Our most common thing is to remove all straps and let them lie on the ground by the trailer. They will then get kicked "out of the way" which puts them under the trailer. Out of site out of mind. Eventually one of two things happen. They "walk off" or are driven over and the ratchet mechanism is ruined.
