I hate it when the news wants opinions on gun laws.
Unlike some folks on OSA, I don't get all bristly and puffed-up when someone calls my comments "dumb." Rather, I go back and see what it is you might find intellectually inferior about my post; in this case, I'm not sure how you got "tell people you can't carry" from "I would suggest being discreet about it". My comment there was meant to get people to think about it and perhaps see what it is I'm trying to say, not to lay down the law and say what you can or cannot do. If you took it as the latter, I'm sorry for not being more clear about it. Back to the topic; what I was attempting to get across was the thought that even if the anti-gun media will make up their own stories, why should we responsible gun owners make it any easier for them? Hence my comment about waiting a few days, then starting off with an unobtrusive carry piece, then going to the main piece. Little by little, get them used to the idea. Then the other part of my comments was about how doing something blatant like carrying a large handgun in a conspicuous manner, or a slung long arm, would probably do more harm than good. It's one thing to be proud of one's rights, it's another thing entirely to be dumb about it. Oops, I used that word.
