I hate it when the news wants opinions on gun laws.
1st Article that popped in the google search list from link abover: Wyoming - MC rider stopped because motorist was perturbed he was passed by the MC -LEO with attitude pulled over MC. "I don't like someone with a gun". Went downhill from there. Wyoming is OC and no requirement to notify. LEO got upset because MC rider didn't notify. Rider informed LEO wyoming was not a must notify state. LEO "I don't care - if you've got a gun I want to know it". Need I go on? 2nd Article that popped: Man with gun call. Guy taking a walk. PO'd LEO -unknown why. Harassing a citizen taking a walk and not bothering anyone. 3rd Article in the list that popped: Guy OC'ng in a Sam's. Uninformed greeter. I didn't bother to go any further. they're all going to be like that or very similar. So what's your point EZ? We shouldn't exercise our rights because it scares some citizens and pisses off some cops? Hell man if we had the same attitude about the 1st amendment OSA and about 90% of the forums on the internet would have to be shut down. At some point the gun community is going to have to draw a line and say enough is enought. It isn't our problem that some citizens are uninformed about what's legal and what isn't. It isn't our problem that some citizens are made nervous or frightened by the sight of a gun. It's their problem. I'll say again - it's - their - problem. And if the media wants to exploit OC incidents then so be it. They'll get over it and stop exploiting them when people stop being interested in the incidents which they will. If they do continue to report the incidents they'll be buried on page 10 or so or a simple link on the front page of their websites - a link most won't bother even clicking on eventually. OC in Oklahoma will have its share of birthing pains but we'll get thru it and in 3 or 4 years we may even get constitutional carry. FWIW though I don't think the number of folks who choose to OC will amount to a hill of beans. Those that get noticed and generate a man with gun call will deal with it. Law enforcement will show up and card 'em. End of story. Will there be some a'holes who give Leo's grief - probably a few times. Will there be Leo's that give OC'rs grief - probably a few times. Eventually the new will wear off and OC will be no less the norm for those that choose it as CC is now for those that CC and will continue to do so. OC is not the end of the world for those that choose to go armed with a firearm anymore than it was when CC became legal back in '95. How long did it take for the hysteria to wear off then?
