(Which, BTW, if you do some of these other things, is almost a certainty.)</p><p></p><p>There was an ongoing feud between a couple of my neighbors that wound up in court. Although Neighbor A was (I believe anyway) the one who was right as Neighbor B started the whole mess by being much like your neighbor, Neighbor A was the one who got in trouble because Neighbor A needlessly escalated the situation by handing out flyers all over the neighborhood accusing Neighbor B of unspeakable acts. Neighbor A could not substantiate these accusations. </p><p></p><p>On top of the Neighbor B had kept a running log of everything that had happened between her and Neighbor A ... she had kept track of every single time the police had been called out (and it was a bunch). She wrote down every single time any other neighbor complained to her about Neighbor A (and she went asking because she asked me a couple of times).</p><p></p><p>In the end, after code enforcement and private attorneys became involved, they both got in trouble but Neighbor A got the shaft fine-wise in court because Neighbor B had documented proof that Neighbor A had needlessly escalated the situation. </p><p></p><p>Now, let me just say that while this was going on the entire neighborhood was quite entertained because nobody like either one of these jackasses ... <img src="/images/smilies/biggrin.png" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":D" title="Big Grin :D" data-shortname=":D" /> Eventually Neighbor A moved away (hallelujah because Neighbor A was my next door neighbor) and rumor has it Neighbor B's husband put his foot down and made her get rid of the cats and chickens that were the impetus for the beginning of said entertainment ... (No I am not Neighbor B ... <img src="/images/smilies/NO.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":NO:" title="NO :NO:" data-shortname=":NO:" />)</p><p></p><p>Now ... as for my own little neighbor conflict. I have a little old man behind me who is a jerk. Dogs bark 24/7, he would yell at the kids when they were in our backyard for "being too noisy" ... caught him looking over the fence several times (God knows exactly what he was doing) ... Nothing too outta hand ... just a turd ... BUT I went over and tried to talk to him to see exactly what the deal was ... O.M.G. ... next thing you know everytime I am in my backyard he is letting his dogs bark on and on and on ... the straw that broke the camel's back?? He started throwing trash over the fence into my yard.</p><p></p><p>I went to work, typed up a cease and desist letter, had my attorney sign off on it and sent it by certified mail. A week or so later I get a letter from HIS attorney stating that while I am the cause of all their problems (typical) he has done repairs to the fence (actually he nailed a bunch of planks to the existing fence which were a foot taller than the fence itself and overlapped the little opening between the slats) and was doing his part to alleviate any problems (i.e., he wasn't yelling at me everytime I went out in the back yard anymore and he would put his dogs in when they started barking). <img src="/images/smilies/biggrin.png" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":D" title="Big Grin :D" data-shortname=":D" /></p><p></p><p>Anyway, my point is there are ways to deal with people like this without getting yourself in trouble. Believe me, there were plenty of times I wanted to take a paintball gun and shoot Mr. Rodgers over the fence. Even pondered burning down his house a time or two ... In the end, though, I got the last laugh. My letter from the attorney cost me the price of a certified, return receipt requested letter. His cost him about $750.00. (Yeah, his attorney was a classmate of my attorney. Apparently his attorney didn't like him anymore than I do ... lol)</p><p></p><p>I am glad you got your dog back.</p></blockquote><p></p>
