I Like Round Butts and I Will Not Lie

A couple of rough S&Ws from an auction. Top one is a Model 19 that I did a square to round butt conversion. Brownells used to sell a jig for this but I guess it’s not as popular anymore. So I performed first cut with a cutoff wheel and final shaping with a Dotco. Had these extra SSR grips that I love the look of. Cerakoted with Black Velvet and Tungsten. And the mod did not get into the serial number.

The matte finish is awesome, great choice.

I’m not a fan of cerakote, so if it had been me, I would’ve had it refinished in DLC.

I like big round butts too! This is a S&W 625. The barrel says, "Model of 1988". Have since put some CT grips on which are kind of square.

I have a 66 that was converted. That 19 looks like a great beater and woods gun now.
