I have to say I can relate to your problem. I guess I have always been easy, tell me a sob story and I'm on your side. I have given a loans (or a large gift) like that several times, and I always get burned. I have outstanding amounts from $100 to $9800. Let's just say I don't loan out money anymore, unless they have some good collateral. I own a trailer dealership and a truck accessory shop and I always get people wanting me to finance them a trailer or a full replacement bumper. If I do #1 the title stays with me or #2 they can pick up the truck accessory when it's paid for. When I take something for collateral I'll take just about anything as long as it's worth something. Guns, cars, your wife.lol. I have learned my lesson and it aint gonna happen unless my terms are met. Just thought I would share my experience with all of you.
