Lots of old timers I've shot Colts with swear by your grip on the pistol. Loose, like a handshake, not like shooting a 357(unless that's what your shooting). Also a few swear to lower your onehanded grip...pinky underneath the grip. The typr of material affects your grip on the gun also....hard rubber(original) is what I learned on, but I swear Ivory and Elk grips are thicker than Mother of Pearl.....affecting how you handle the gun......just me and my 2cents. Practice and lots of it with Colt SAA. Remember what rounds(make of round) shoot where on the target. I don't shoot Cowboy Action nor Fast Draw competition. Just a few beers, or shots of whiskey, with a good cigar shooting tin cans off a wooden fence post or a few metal targets down in the creek or pasture. ***If your not having the luck you wanted from your guns...THEN....I'd call and ask what these guys recommend for improving accuracy. Waaaaay before you go filing on your front sight, call a few of these places I've posted. Tell them what you want from your gun and see what they offer....a phone call is free information. Here are a few I've used for grips and some tuning....NOT quick draw or fast cowboy action.....just for me and what I wanted. I would have suggested Bob Munden, but he is deceased...RIP. Don't know who is going to take over, you could call his wife (Becky) and ask.??? At least thats the way I am with Colt SAA, I can put away my SIG and go back and hit point of aim, but not without practice on my Colt SAA. Cohiba
