Message: <blockquote data-quote="Shadowrider" data-source="post: 1869899" data-attributes="member: 3099">Back when I was hunting dove alot and prayed for hot dry conditions you could mark your calendar.  September 1 would always, always, always have a wet cold front hit.  My favorite tactic was setting up on a pond in the evening and nab them when they came into drink before roosting.  Can't count the times that plan was blown up.  One year we got a perfect setup and about 4:00 it hit.  Heavy rain, thunderstorms and cold!  The birds just vanished into thin air.  Couldn't find a bird to save your life after that.But this year I'm not bitching about it even if I do get to get out.</blockquote>
