IDPA Feb 25 Saturday OCR&GC

Your next Oil Capital match will be on Saturday the 25th at OCR&GC. Set-up commences at 0730, sign-in at 0900 and walk-thru at 1000. Match fee is $12 ($10 for OCR&GC members). Expect something a bit over 100 rounds.

A Classifier will follow Saturday’s match, assuming the predicted good weather holds out. There will be additional Classifiers offered in coming weeks. The Classifier requires 90 rounds. Every IDPA member must shoot a Classifier every 12 months to retain a current Classification in each Division in which they hold a classification. Cost to shoot Classifier is $5; n/c to OCR&GC members. Classifications will be calculated via Beach Bunny and updated classification issued on the spot.

The IDPA Safety Officer Class was Saturday the 18th. The class of new SO graduates will appreciate being handed the timer at upcoming matches, so they can maximize their learning experience.

Todd and I are looking for Safety Officers and other Staff volunteers for the Badlands. Staff/SO shoots for ZERO entry fee. They also get their own special random draw table, in addition to a chance at the general random draw table. The only limitation is that you can win only ONE gun. Staff/SO shoot their match beginning on Friday, finishing it up on Saturday and Sunday. PM me for info.

Thanks everyone for coming! Results are attached. Paul took low score on 5 of the 6 stages. Jason snagged a low too. Lots of good matches shot by lots of folks today, including the day’s new competitors. Stage 1 was the high count Hit on Non Threat winner for the day. A little strategy to get a clear 2/3 of each threat plate was to deal with each from its respective side of the barrel. The shot on the left plate from the right side of the barrel gave only maybe 1/2 of the plate as a clear target.

Your upcoming matches at Oil Capital are Sunday March 11th and Saturday March 24th. USSA IDPA shoots on Saturday March 10th.

11 shooters quickly shot the Classifier held after the main match. I’ll plan on Classifiers after the March 11th and March 24th matches, weather permitting. If someone is needing one sooner, let me know. We’ll look into a non-match date, even a weekday evening. Heck, we can even shoot after dark with our range lighting. Not as bright as day, but pretty decent.
