IDPA Oil Capital Saturday July 25

Oil Capital IDPA shoots on Saturday July 25th . Plenty of cool shade and cold water on the ranges! We finished the main match at 12:30 the last match date. We will make plans to do it again but still keep the COF quality high as we did last match. Expect 6 stages; around 100 rounds. The usual advice is to bring 150 rounds just in case you might miss. Set-up commences at 0730, sign-in begins at 0900 and safety meeting/stage walk-thru promptly at 1000. Entry fee is $15 ($10 for OCR&GC members).

Thanks to all for making it out. Results are out via BCC email to the competitors. Last shot was fired before 1:30 so we did well getting in a full six stage match. Paul B in CCP took low score on all six stages as well as the day’s total low score. Kelley D was close behind in CDP. Results are below as well as attached. Stage 3 was accuracy intensive. Other stages in the 92 round match were more general. Three stages involved shooting on the move. All in all, a good challenge but not particularly over the top.

If you have an AR-15, an AK-47 or some other rifle just laying you might want to consider Oil Capital’s monthly Defensive Practical Rifle matches. The short version to describe is “IDPA with a Rifle”. Yardages are typically 10-50, occasionally out to 75. Round count for the 5 stages are 65-75 rifle/carbine and 20 pistol. Match fee is $15. We shoot 1st Saturday year round, 0930 sign in, 1000 Safety Meeting & Walk Through. It’s a great laid-back but safe way to learn to run your rifle better.
