IDPA Saturday Aug 23 @ Oil Capital

Saturday August 23rd will be the upcoming regular IDPA match at Oil Capital. Set-up commences at 0730, sign-in begins at 0900 and safety meeting/stage walk-thru promptly at 1000. Entry fee is $12 ($10 for OCR&GC members). This will be a 6 stage match with around 100 required rounds. Stages will be set to run quickly BUT also provide a good challenge. Expect steel and moving targets in several stages. We will put up several tents on the stages where cool shade isn’t otherwise convenient and provide ample bulk water as always for shooter comfort. We are finishing matches in the early part of the afternoon before it gets toasty outside.

As far as a Classifier opportunity after this match, it’s a “no go”. Temps are predicted to be on the climb to the upper end for Oklahoma in August by the time we’d get to it.

The USSA match for September has been moved FORWARD a week to Saturday the 6th. The week after is the IDPA Nationals there.

Thanks to the several who came out to Saturday’s match. As promised, we shot several moving prop and metal rich stages as well as other out of the ordinary COF’s. Also as promised we were gone home early, some squads as early as 1 PM with the others shortly after. Thanks to all for their assistance with put away.

Eric F led the low time bracket with a 101.44. Paul B was close behind with a 111.08. Lots of opportunities to tag the friendly cardboards. Shooting on the move an emphasis. Both speed and accuracy necessary as usual. Several new faces; hope you enjoyed the day’s match.

Oil Capital’s next Match is scheduled for Sunday September 14. USSA will shoot a week earlier than their usual match date in September; put September 6th on the calendar for them. The IDPA Nationals will be at USSA the week of the 7th.

Upcoming on Saturday November 8th is the Stars and Stripes IDPA Match at USSA. Save the date! Information including an application should be popping up soon.
