[QUOTE="BillM, post: 3978434, member: 45785"] While I was doing ISR, I had one of the young ladies trying to attack another. I told her to do that she was going to have to come through me. And if she started that, I was going to put her down hard. I guess she believed me. On another occasion, and I don't know if it was before or after that one, had one of the guys ask what would happen if a bunch of them jumped me. I told him I'd probably wind up in the hospital. But I wouldn't be the only one. I guess they believed that one, too, since not one of them tried it. I did have a kid throw a desk across the room once, and tell me I was lucky he didn't throw it at my F-ing head. I even understood why he was angry. He'd been there for the time he was supposed to be there, and done all the work they sent him. And they didn't let him out. Turns out his teacher had called in sick, and the sub didn't know anything about, so didn't ask to get him back to class. He was also on and IEP. Had a meeting about it with his folks and the administrators. In that meeting, I asked him what would happen if he had just gotten up and walked out? And he knew the answer. He'd have been suspended for the rest of the day. As it was, he was suspended for the rest of the year. I asked him why he didn't just walk out, and he said he forgot that it would just be the rest of the day. Too upset to think, I guess. I wasn't privy to his IEP, so don't know what his disability was. Had another student who was a frequently visitor to ISR, and he was there sometimes two or three times a month for all 4 years of high school. Except about the last 4 months of his senior year. He'd come in, sit down, and start to work while I did the roll and passed out work, and when I was done, he'd get up, gather his stuff, and walk out, saying "Bye, Mr. M, see you next time.
