I told my coach on the first day that I was looking forward to conquering some fourteeners (mountains that reach 14,000 feet). He turned to me and said "you can never conquer a mountain, no man can. You can climb it, be a part of it, but climbers that think they can conquer a mountain die trying." It was very profound and changed my perception not only of climbing, but of life in general. I just think that has bearing on this conversation.........</p></blockquote><p></p>
