I waited a little while and I called the HM and said man we've had a rough ride, we came in off the Pacific thru the Hackett Straight, we're out of fuel, no groceries, haven't bathed in a week, we just need a few days, can you help us out. He comes back and says hay buddy when you see F dock come on in and I'll put a flag out for ya, I got fuel, lots of hot water, tie her up and come sign in, stay for a week. So my mate, a German guy with all the people skills of Her Goebels says how did you do that? I said you were talking to the Harbormaster of Ketchikan Alaska, he's the most powerful man ln this town, you don't tell him what he's going to do for you, You tell him your situation, ask him if he can give you a hand, and he will bust his butt to help. So we got the boat stocked up, did some repairs, slept for days, and took off for Whittier.</p></blockquote><p></p>
