I do a lot of different types of cooking. Every once in a while I go to an old "recipe" of basics and find out the original simple version really tastes better than lots of foofie-do stuff. Just for example I used to try to smoke ribs with all kinds of rubs, sauces, temperature changes, wrappings, etc. Now, I salt and pepper, throw them in the smoker at 225 and take them out about 7-8 hours later depending on how tender I want them. Sometimes do not even put BBQ sauce on them. Yep, real delicious original basic rib taste instead of tasting all the seasonings and condiments. Sometimes going back to basics is not all bad. Hot dogs wrapped in a slice of bread with a little mustard can get me by in a pinch if I have no buns. Thanks for the entertainment.
