I guess I have just stuck with my scissors method because it’s what I learned, and it’s super easy. If I’m in a hurry, I can do them like 1 minute per bird lol. It goes: Grab quail, cut off head with scissors Cut off wings/feet Peel skin off, start in breast area, it will slide right off because you cut the feet/wings Then cut off the butt/vent. Then run the scissors down both sides of the spine Then the spine and all of the innards come out together It literally goes so fast! It leaves you with a skinless spatchcocked carcass I like to wrap them in bacon and grill or smoke ‘em. Also like putting them in a baking pan, dump some cream mushroom soup over them, bake then serve over rice. My kids love eating quail! They enjoy nibbling those tiny little bones lol
