Message: <blockquote data-quote="cjjtulsa" data-source="post: 1873335" data-attributes="member: 6146">I agree.  And the frightening thing about it, we are right behind them.  Europe is one of our largest trading partners, and when trade is suspended with them due to a currency default, we don't sell.  Over the cliff we go.  We have a major economic quake from an EU meltdown, and China's major trade partner (us) will slow/quit buying, so off the cliff they go.  China also trades heavily with Europe, so they are in one hell of a pickle.  Add to that, if the BRICS nations dump the dollar as the standard for petroleum, we'll hit the skids in a hurry.  Our "default currency" status is the only thing keeping us from going Hindenburg right now.  Things are looking, very, very bumpy over the next few years.</blockquote>
