It's renewal time for me too. I took a selfie with my phone. Hopefully they accept it. Tried to be as driver's license-esque as possible.

I just heard this morning that Constitutional Carry legislation is being attempted in Texas again, and it’s supposedly already passed the House. I’m not holding out much hope it will pass the Senate though. I’ve had a TX CHL since 1996, and even if CC does pass, I still plan to renew my license next year. Not that I travel much except to my place in OK, but if I do, I want to have the CHL to avoid any hassle that might occur with me carrying in another state.:anyone:

Here's a reason to renew your OK Handgun License. HB1630, which will allow Handgun License holders to use their license for background checks, has been passed in the OK House and Senate and is on its way to Gov. Stitt's desk for signing.

I'll be renewing mine when it comes due....too many reasons not to...OK Handgun License. HB1630 is the best reason along with travel to other states

That's awesome. it really grinds my gears that I'm enrolled in the FBI's RapBack database, yet I can't have a UPIN to bypass background checks and NFA wait times. If nothing else, the inefficiency aggravates me. :(

Okay, I just read the text of HB 1630 and I couldn't find any reference to this. Can you point it out by any chance? We are talking about a background check to purchase a firearm, aren't we?

As best I can recall, possession of a SDA license use to allow us to bypass NICS. That was overturned some years back though, so we DO have to have a NICS check done now.

Ive read it several times and cant find where it states that either. I dont know if it is implied by some of the changes to the application/approval process or not.

I'm not seeing that in this bill either. An attempt to do this several years ago was dependant on changing the renewal period to, I think, 5 years rather than 10. The 10 year license was causing the hangup with the feds.
