I am needing 30 carbine ammo and came across this ad :30 carbine 7.62mm lc 52 ammo Is this junk ammo? It is in a carboard colored box with 7.62 MM LC stamped on the box. TIA

Just depends on how it looks, how it's been stored. do you have a pic you could post? maybe get one from the seller? Chances are good that it's fine, but it never hurts to 'see' what you're buying first.

The LC headstamp is Lake City, which is a US Gov't ammo plant. They make good stuff (Lake City Match used to (and may still) be highly prized), but it all depends on the condition of the ammo itself; if they took care of it, it should be fine, but if it's corroded or otherwise looks bad, all bets are off.

Chances are it is Chinese.
Can you describe the packaging? type, color of stamps, etc.

The surest way to verify is to pull a bullet and see how it is primed. If it has a single flash hole in the center then it is boxer primed and is legit Lake City. Im betting you will see two holes, which makes it not Lake City.
