Additional charges are expected.</p><p></p><p>The suspect has an experienced defender of high-profile criminals in Clarke, appointed to the case by the Federal Public Defender's Office in Phoenix. Currently in private practice in San Diego, she previously served as president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and from 2002 to 2009 she was the first full-time capital resource counsel for the Federal Public and Community Defender Program.</p><p></p><p>Clarke's representation of Loughner could be indicative of the harsh sentence faced by the suspect, should he be convicted.</p><p></p><p>Here is a quick list of infamous criminals either represented or counseled by Clarke:</p><p></p><p>1. 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui</p><p>Moussaoui is serving a life sentence at a maximum security prison in Colorado for his role in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.</p><p></p><p>2. "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski</p><p>Kaczynski is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for his mail bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others.</p><p></p><p>3. Atlanta Olympics bomber Eric Rudolph</p><p>Rudolph was responsible for Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park bombing in 1996. After his five years as a fugitive, authorities caught the "Olympic Park Bomber," who is now serving multiple life sentences.</p><p></p><p>4.
