[QUOTE="randallss7, post: 2124331, member: 24507"] I wanted to make a large knife this weekend, I have a customer who wants a 18 inch knife like this one, all I had laying around was 13 inches of 1075 so I had to try it and see. Long knives are harder to make no doubt anyway here it it. 13" total 8 3/4" blade of 1075 carbon steel at 1/4" stock thickness 2/3ds full flat grind sharpened at 25 degrees for heavy use, it will shave hair at that. This one has and edge quench heat treatment. Blade is finished with 220g sand paper and hard wheel with emery compound. handle is orange and black g-10.
