Larry Vickers 2 Day 1911 Operator Nov 6-7 , 2021 McLoud, OK
This class features 1911 specific range drills that highlight the differences of shooting a 1911 versus other handguns. Specific drills and courses of fire are demonstrated and practiced to allow the shooter to understand what shooting a 1911 is all about. A unique part of this course involves a classroom portion on the second day. In this course portion, the students will learn about detailed disassembly, troubleshooting, recommended and not recommended modifications, and a detailed inspection of each students 1911. This will give students the knowledge and skills needed to identify and diagnose problems with their 1911. Time permitting, a return to the range to reinforce what was taught wraps up this intensive 1911 learning experience. This class is a must for anyone who wants to run a 1911 properly. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.

I have taken other handgun courses, but never for a specific platform. I think it may be very interesting and I am strongly considering attending this two day course. I love to shoot and carry the 1911 platform and I think it would be very interesting to meet Larry Vickers. Hopefully, I would walk away learning a lot more about owning, maintaining, and shooting a 1911. Anybody ever take this course, or been to to an Aztec training course, or for that matter been to Meadhall Range.

If you go, make sure to bring a few boxes of donuts for uncle Lar.
Also if you go, Try to make an impression on him so he knows who you are and you’re not just another one of the 50 other students he has

I will say that you will learn as much or more about your 1911 in this class as you will about shooting. LAV knows a thing or two about a thing or two when it comes to building and modifying 1911's :)

One of my training buddies took a class with Vickers. He said the worst shooter on day 1, shot the best on a marksmanship drill on day 2. Sounds like solid instruction to me.

You can't go wrong at all going to Meadhall for anything. Fantastic range and fantastic instructors for me there so far.
