Dont think he realizes that Chief's and Sherrif's support politicians and nominees, so it puts pressure on the politician to make LEO/first responders happy. Its also a doubledged sword because once the sheeple realize it, and feel less safe because their PD is "undergunned" or "outgunned", they'll demand change too.
