Yesterday,,, Even though it was windy as all heck. I have an H&R .22 Sportster that had a Bushnell Banner scope mounted on it,,, The scope interfered with the hammer so it had very high rings,,, That meant there was no way to get a good cheek weld. I yanked the scope and mounted an inexpensive NcStar red dot on it,,, That brought the optic more in line with my eyes,,, Now I can get a decent cheek weld. I spent a happy hour dialing the optic in,,, Even with the wind I think I have it pretty close. Check it out,,, A Tactical H&R .22 Sportster. Ten rounds at 50 yards,,, Not the tightest group I've shot But, 69 year old eyes and a high wind,,, That's my alibi and I'm going to stick with it. I did discover one thing about red dots. Your (my) first inclination is to dial the intensity all the way up,,, But when you do the brightness of the dot "covers" the target area more. I found that dialing it down until it's just barely visible,,, Allowed me to see the target area more clearly. So after many years sitting in the case,,, This little plinker is going to see more range time now. Aarond .
