It is what it is. I try to keep a yard dog around, like a healer, to keep the coyotes run off, but if they go to the neighbor's place and cause issues, they get what they get. I've had neighbors in the past that would keep 7-8 strays around all the time, an I didn't mind feeding them from time to time, but they had 2 or 3 that would run in an aggressive pack, chase the horses, and sent my old decrepit healer to the vet 3 times and almost killed him in front of me once out on my deck. I visited with them and told them they had 3 strikes when they refused to pay the last $500 vet bill & they were out of chances. They chose not to do anything, so I did it for them. I didn't like it, but felt as if I had no other choice, and handled it without much remorse. Strays are welcome at my place, as long as they mind their manners. They always will be. Its my opinion that if you kill a dog for no more than passing thru, or taking a dump in the yard, you're a rotten bastard. Your opinion may differ, and you're sure welcome to it, but my opinion isn't likely to change.
