dewayne, I thought you had to have 5 or 6 US made parts per SEC 922.
Edit, if you convert the MAK into a non thumbhole stock gun you are supposed to add 5 or 6 US made parts, depending on if you have a muzzle attachment or not. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. 922r says you have to have 5 US parts or 6 if the barrel is threaded.
Most people change out the FCG (3)
PG (1)
Stock (1)
The handguards only count as one even if they are actually two parts.
You also can keep the great triggers the MAK comes with by replacing the magazine followers and floorplates with US ones for 2 more US parts.You must use these mags only.
That along with a US stock,gas piston and pistol grip would make you legal if the muzzle isn't threaded.If it is be sure to use a US muzzle device.

sound to me like i need to put the thumbhole back on it. that would be easier and cheaper!
