The 1x was great for up close, and the 4x was plenty to hit a target at the ranges he experienced. The biggest difference I'd see vs a regular red dot is having to take that extra split second to align your eye with the scope, vs point and click with the Red Dot. Though, without using one, I don't know how much longer it would take, if any at all, at 1x through the DMS-1.</p></blockquote><p></p>
