I have one that is identical but a fixed blade. Been a great knife.
I bought bayonets for that specific reason, during the "Summer of Love".
I was supposed to be a tanker, so bayonets wouldn't have helped my MOS very well.
They didn't help anyone's MOS well...and the only "knife" issued...and really only of utility on the end of a rifle, crap cutters/choppers/diggers, but very hard to break, bent ones straightened and reissued.
Yes, they make some fixed blade larger ones. When I feel really politically incorrect, I jam one of these under belt and carry under untucked shirt or jacket just to do it, and as an exercise in masochism...they also pretty much rule out a gun on other side and I want a gun.

Some relics from the 80's/ early 90's -- the small black non serrated one i actually carried while in the service of our country and was a gift from my dad for my 14th birthday

And we've done the EDC Pocket dump theme before i think , as this is an old pic, but this is a Gerber double edge Applegate folder
A gift from a client about a year ago - seems like a solid bushcrafting choice - and may inspire me to do just that one of these days but so far it’s been under utilized except for game prep
